Effie Trinket’s Wedding Party Dress
Apparel

This purple dress was what Effie wore to Katniss and Peeta’s wedding party at the presidential palace. Knowing that this night meant a lot to the capital and to the couple, Effie wanted to look her best, which, in the eyes of the Capitol, she did.

“The fashion at the Capitol is much different than the districts and is an acquired taste. There are many mismatched colors and wild, bold patterns and hairstyles.”

Finnick Odair’s Gold Bangle
Apparel

In the 75th Hunger Games, Finnick Odair from District 4 had a token that was a gold bangle with a flame pattern. This token was first given to Haymitch Abernathy from Effie Trinket as a sign of them being a team. Haymitch gave it to Finnick to tell Katniss to make him an ally, as he could later help her in the games.

“At first, Katniss was slightly confused with the fact that Finnick had the bangle, and thought he stole it from Haymitch, but then realized that Haymitch had given it to Finnick to send her a signal.”

Gale’s Outfit
Apparel

Gale Hawthorne was Katniss’ best friend and hunting partner. He was in love with Katniss and was forced to watch as she volunteered for the 74th Hunger Games in the place of her sister and faked a romance with Peeta Mellark in order to stay alive. After the Games, he became a threat to the Capitol through his semi-romantic relationship with Katniss, and was used to gain leverage over her. He escaped the bombing of District 12, and managed to save almost 800 others. In District 13, he became a soldier for the rebellion and fought on Katniss' side for the remainder of the war.

“Although what he wore was not significant, his character was. The simple long-sleeve shirt, vest, and brown pants and shoes did not mean much to others, but the man inside them did.”

Katniss' Hunting Jacket
Apparel

One of the key pieces of Katniss’ outfits was the story and history of this oversized leather jacket that Katniss wore. It once belonged to her father, and she wore it while hunting outside the district limits with her friend, Gale.

“While the jacket itself does not play that big of role to the story, tt quickly became a symbol of Katniss’ strength and allegiance to her family.”

This pin was Katniss Everdeen's tribute token and was worn by her in the arena as a symbol of her home district. It is golden in color and depicts a mockingjay bird and an arrow. Katniss wore this pin on the outside of her clothing, usually on her chest near her heart.
“Unknowingly, the pin became a sign of rebellion to the Capitol since mockingjays were created after the disastrous experiment with jabberjays.”

Katniss’ Coronation Dress
Apparel

After winning the 74th Games, Peeta and Katniss both appeared for the post-Games interview. Katniss was told by Haymitch Abernathy that they must act as though they were madly in love and that she would have rather died than lose Peeta. Katniss was dressed as an innocent young girl in a yellow dress that resembled candlelight to draw attention away from her rebellious actions.

“When President Snow gave the crown to Katniss, he gave her a venomous look that let her know he would get revenge.”
