Riverbows are deadly weapons designed specifically to kill adult Cactacae, humanoid beings that have the skin of a cactus and the general physiology of a very large human. These deadly weapons are designed like crossbows but are significantly larger in size. The standard ammunition of Riverbows are Chackras, large spinning metal disks with serrated edges. They are one of the only things that can penetrate the extremely tough and thick skin of the Cactacae.

The wastes the Slake Moths produce from feeding on sentient life causes nightmares in nearby populations. While still incredibly terrorfying, Slake Moths cannot mesmerize you if you look at them through a mirror. The New Crobuzon government created their own special mirror helmets for handling the the creatures in their underground laboratories.

"During the Summer of Nightmares in Crobuzon, mirror helmets were Isaac Dan der Grimnebulin and the governments most effective weapon against the Slack Moth plague."

After conducting research on how to restore flight to a wingless garuda through the use of crisis energy, Isaac Dan der Grimnebulin completed his design for a Crisis Engine. The engine, through advanced thaumaturgy and precise scientific mathematical equations, is able to channel crisis energy in the form of torque and become an unlimited fuel source. During the Summer of Nightmares in New Crobuzon, Grimnebulin constructed the first Crisis Engine in an attempt to defeat the Slake Moths he inadvertantly released while researching crisis energy.

"The Crisis Engine is only limited by the thaumaturgy, science, and materials used in its creation. Blood Armor is actually a physical feature unique to the Scabmettler race of people. The blood of Scabmettler's slowly super hardens upon mixing with the air. They consider the process to be an artform.

"Every Scabmettler's armor is as unique as there own personality.
