Description
Gjallar (meaning "ringing horn") is the horn carried by Heimdall, the watchman of the gods and guard of Bifrost. When he blows it, the horn can be heard in all the nine worlds. With a softer tone Gjallar announced the arrival of the gods, but Heimdall also sounded it more forcefully in times of danger. It is said that this horn will be blown one final time by Heimdall at Ragnarok, the end of the world, calling the gods and the warriors to the battlefield.
