Subject

The Pip-Boy 3000 and its importance to Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas

Description

The Pip-Boy (Personal Information Processor) was created by Robco before the great war of 2077. The Pip-Boy 3000 was the seventh model of Pip-Boy created. A Pip-Boy is given to all vault dwellers when they reach the age of 10. The Pip-Boy 3000 is a device that is worn on the wrist and can only be taken off by the user. A Pip-Boy 3000 is able to play radio broadcasts, show a person's special stats and his or her perks, play holo-tapes, show maps, read notes, manage a person's inventory, and keep track of quests. The Pip-Boy 3000 also comes with VATS (Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System). VATS helps a person target specific body parts on an enemy and shows the probability of hitting the persons shot. A Pip-Boy is essential to survive in the waste land because it allows a person to check how healthy the person is and keeps count of how much radiation a person has acquired.
